Lambo doors have been called many different things over the years. The technical term for them is Scissor Doors but in more recent years they have been adapted to regular everyday cars through the invention of technologically advanced hinges that bolt-on lambo doors to your factory bolt holes replacing your regular doors and opening your car door in two ways. Horizontal, and vertical. One company in the industry named Vertical Doors Inc is accredited with making the first early mass produced examples bolt-on lambo doors.
Since then other companies have come on board to technologically revolutionize the lambo hinge into a safe, sturdy, practical, everyday use lambo hinge system that bolts-on to your vehicle and never goes out of adjustment. These examples use advanced engineering techniques to make a cost effective high performance hinge system that feels like the car cam that way from the factory. Typical mass produced lambo door systems have been known to be flimsy and go out of adjustment as they are made for mass production not high performance. Scissor Doors Inc. (www.scissor-doors.com) is an example of a manufacturer that spends a great deal of time in research and development making door conversions that blow the mind but not necessarily your budget. Their only competition on a quality level is Car Doors Inc. (www.cardoorsinc.com) ; another custom one off manufacturer that has set out to revolutionize the car door hinge with properly engineered bolt- on lambo door hinges. Personally, I've purchased from both companies and the qualityis par and way better than even the LSD doors at half the price and farsuperio to the industry standard vertical door hinge. A point worth of note is that the the cost of such fine examples is often less that the name brand systems. Proper engineering doesn't always mean more money. Check them our for yourself, they will be happy to provide you spec, schematics, and photo examples of their high end lifetime warranty bolt on lambo door hinge kits.
Many people search for lambo door kits online and come across vertical door kits and knock off vertical door hinges. These are the ones you see from 299-400$ on multiple reseller sites online. These should be avoided. They simply disappoint and end up costing you far more money than you would have spent on a quality hinge.
