Fix a CD clock radio?
i have an RCA CD clock radio(don't know the model) it has an automatic motorized CD bay with 2 speakers on either side and a button on the top lifts the CD door up and then open to about 75degree angle. In other words its a vertical CD player that spins upright instead of a normal CD player that spins lying down. But when I put in a CD it spins the disk for like 30 seconds and keeps spinning it then the CD comes to a stop and the LCD says "no disc" What the hell is the prob? it used to play fine before and the speakers are really good quality.
I have tried numerous CD's that play fine on my laptop and CD players.
Get a cotton swab a little damp with rubbing alcohol and rub the little lens/eye looking thing inside the CD compartment, but be gentle, just lightly rub it. Then take the dry end and just rub it a bit so you get off any excess alcohol. Then try a CD. If it doesn't work, scrap it and buy a new one, as the cost of repair will almost certainly be higher then the price of a new one.
The lens cleaner discs probably won't work because the laser has to see the tracks on the CD and move the laser to the right track for it to clean it.
