what does it take to drift?
i dont plan on it but i was wondering how do you drift? the car i would probably use would be a 1993 Mazda RX-7 with a veilside fortune body kit or a Ford mustang (newer model 06-10) and straight shift. i was just wondering how do people drift and what it does to the car??? Thank You!!!
In order to drift you need:
1. Tires: good tires, and new tires to place after you burn-out the old ones.
2. A powerfull and sporty rear-wheel-drive car, with Stablity control turned-off.
3. An open parking lot, preferably wet.
4. Courage
5. A good seating position: back squizzed tight into the seat to feel the back-end sliding, seat-belt on, hands on the wheel at 9 to-3, with thumbs inside to maximize control. When not using the clutch, squizze the foot against the footrest.
6. Now you need to get the car sliding, control the slide, and than keep it up with the accelerator. You go fast, with the thorttle heavily pressed, sharply and quickly turn the wheel, even "flick" it (turn a bit to one side and than qucikly turn the other way. Once the car's began to slide, lift-off of the power agressively, turn the wheel into the direction where the tail is going, and than hammering the throttle, and balance it with the steering to keep it sliding.

Should I get a tuner or a muscle car?
I like this nsx in my shop, vtek 6cyl. Very nice with a veilside body kit.
I've also had my eye on the ZO6. What would be more fun to drive as well as punish the pavement?
