What kit do climbers take for cold weather mountain expeditions?
Apart from very warm Goretex outer clothing, you will also need: Good climbing boots, Thermal underwear, a large haversack, Nylon ropes, a helmet, crampons, pitons, an ice pick - if you intend going very high, you'll also need oxygen cylinders.
I'm sure there are things I've forgotten, but this should at least be the minimum.

Emergency Preparedness Kit For Your Car
Driving a vehicle can be a very pleasant experience, but we have to keep in mind that safety should always be our top priority. As a driver, you hope that there won’t be any car accidents, traffic jams, terrible weather, or accidents in the car from kids or other unruly passengers. Living in Austin, TX, most of us know how the weather can take a turn for the worse. During the winter months, we have to be cautious of ice storms, freezing, and heavy rain when we are lucky. Unfortunately, inclement weather can make the roads hazardous. If you live in the hill country you have to be on the lookout for deer on the roads in the spring which can cause some very serious accidents. If something were to go wrong, you should be prepared for any situation with an emergency preparedness kit for your car.
If you are a parent driver, you know that kids can get cuts or scrapes from playing around in the car. It is always handy to have plenty of band aids available. There are other necessities that you will need for your car kit, including fluids for your car in case there is a break down. Here are some tips and materials to use when making an emergency preparedness car kit.
If nothing else, you should always make sure your vehicle is properly maintained. In the event of a breakdown, you can do some trouble shooting to see what the problem is. A lot of times the vehicle is out or low of proper fluids. Your car kit should include motor oil, a gallon of water, antifreeze, windshield wiper fluid, power-steering, and brake fluid. If you have the space in your kit or somewhere else, include a funnel so that pouring liquids in will be easier. It’s also a good idea to keep a few old rags to clean up with.
Once you have fluids for your car, you can work on materials for your car kit in case someone in the vehicle is hurt from an accident or other mishap. A standard first aid kit should include band aids, gauze, bandages, something for sterilization like alcohol wipes, scissors, instant cold pack, adhesive tape, gloves, and pain relievers. If you have medication that you need daily, such as insulin or an inhaler, you should include them in your kit as well.
Other items that will come in handy in case you are stranded or lost should be considered as well. When ice storms hit in Austin, some cars can get stranded over night on the road. This happened to a lot of people commuting out of Austin on their way home from work. Your emergency kit should include blankets, flash lights, batteries, energy or protein bars, toilet paper, jumper cables, road flares, and a battery powered or solar powered radio. Is there such thing as car doors that open straight up?
Like the door will go 100% vertical. Not twist like Butterfly doors or Scissor doors.
I mean like they literally SLIDE straight up. Like you'd hold your hand up vertical at a 90 degree angle, and then move it straight up. Or from a 2D perspective, they'd go vertical upward.
yes people call them lambroghini doors, the open straight up, you need to buy a good quality kit, not a cheap imitation that is for show, but one designed for every day use and abuse.

I want one of my car but i don't know how much they cost??
regular scissor doors are 700-1000$ but there are some other hinges that open regular and scissor if you want that can cost up to 2000 -3000. the regular "bolt on" where you can do yourself is cheaper than wielding one.

Electric Drum Kit Question?
Basically a very good pianist and myself want to collaborate with two grime/rap artist. I was wondering if an electric kit would give a better sound and whether I could maybe alter the tune and sound after hitting one of the actual pads to inflict a more techno sound which would mix with grime or rap music. Any ideas on maybe which kit, make it cheapish, good quality and reliable. That'd be great.

Can carbon fiber be used on a car during the winter time?
I live in Massachusetts and was thinking about putting carbon fiber parts on my car. I was told by someone that I would not be able to keep the carbon fiber parts on my car during the winter. I was wondering if this was true or false.
The strength properties of carbon fiber will not change with the temperature range of the weather.
The epoxy that encapsulates the carbon fiber may become slightly more brittle at low temperatures, but it would have to really really cheap epoxy. Even standard fiberglass resin can handle below freezing temperatures.

Is there anywhere I could buy scissor doors for a Z4?
Bundy- Thank you! My friend has an auto shop, I'll probably have them installed there.
I bought scissor doors for my Mitsubishi 3000GT at this site, but I'm not sure if they sell them for a Z4.
Oh, and if you're planning on installing them on your own, just make sure you know what you're doing and have someone there to help you because it's a pain in the arse!

I kind of like the scissor doors myself, but you never mentioned sliding doors (like in a van or minivan). Lets also not forget gull wings like on a De Lorian (or however that name is spelled). Then you have your situations like the Dukes or Hazard where the doors are welded shut, in which case it would not matter how they opened (since they don't open).
