What is the best lowering kit for a honda accord?
i have a 4 door honda accord with 18 inch rims
i want to know the best lowering kit
for it that is fairly cheap but not crappy
what are the negative effects of lowering it
and are lowering springs the best way to go
or should i use airbags or something?

You answered your own question. You will forever have to get use to a "crappy ride" Lowering springs have a much higher spring rate which makes them stiff and bouncy as he*l. Spring rates are figured this way: A given coil spring is inserted in a coil spring tester. For every inch of spring compression past the installed height a weight is recorded. Lowering springs are shorter and made of larger diameter wire before it's heat treated. If this makes no sense springs are nothing more than a straight torsion bar coiled up. The shorter the torsion bar the harder it is to twist, but wait a minute the coiled up torsion bar is not only shorter but larger in diameter. That's exactly what you get when you put lowering springs in a light car. The killer is you'll need new stiffer valved struts to control the new more rapid harmonics of the springs bouncing up and down faster for a shorter distance of spring travel.
Companies such as Eibach sells lowering springs for your car. Nowhere in their literature will they ever tell you what the spring rates are because they don't want to scare you off.
We've regretfully installed many of these lowering kits with a lot of forewarning what's about to happen. In 95% of the cases young guys come back mad as hel*. They are spitting nails but they have only themselves to get sucked in for the sake of "looking cool"
If you choose to waste your hard earned money on one of many of these lowering kits I'll be the first to step out and say you'll never think of doing it again. Figure in a complete re-alignment, instalation of camber plates to get the geometery back in specification again and the whole process snowballs faster than you wanna know.
