I want to sell my drums to guitar center, but the condition of them are bad, what to do?
The drums i want to sell are in pretty bad shape. The only thing that's bad is the mixed color. The toms are one color, and the bass drum is bare wood. If I slapped on a new and good looking paint job, will that help the value? If yes or not, does anyone have an approximate guess of how much it would be worth at guitar center? The drums are a Groove Percussion 22"x16" bass drum, 12"x8" rack tom, 16"x16" traditional size floor tom, and a PDP 13"x3.5" full chrome piccolo snare. Would that be a better idea, or should i just keep my 3 yr old kit and just fix it up for myself??
Guitar center will give between 10 and 20 on the dollar of their value new, and probably a lot closer to 10. If you don't believe me, check out their 'sell' prices for used equipment, it's probably somewhere between 40% and 60% of new. For them to make money they've got to pay nothing for them and sell them fast, or pay a little more and take their time finding a buyer.
If you want to sell them, find a private buyer.
