I need Honda Accord help?
I love cars, but dont know much about engines. hopefully ill be getting a well paying job, and at 16, ill have no other expenses, My gear head friends talked me into tuner cars (out of a BMW), and i want a 94-97 model, Honda Accord. After I buy a body kit, pay for a full paint job, and a sound system, i want to work in the engine. but before all this can come true (crossing my fingers it all works out) i need to know what kind of base accord i want. i think i want a 5 speed manual, but what kind of engine do i want? my friend said a 2.2L vtec, but why exactly? whats the difference in power between that and an SOHC? Ive looked on Andysautosport.com, and found some cool body kits on there, and tirerack.com and found some cool looking rims, but i have no idea on whats good. Whats a good manufacturer of body kits and fascias? and of 18" wheels? and sound systems?

Engine; H22a DOHC VTEC has around 200hp. Very Reliable, Speed, Expensive parts, Potential to get stolen!
Engine; F22a SOHC VTEC has around 140hp. Very Reliable, inexpensive parts. nobody wants it.
My suggestion will be, first work on the engine. You gonna waste alot of money in body kits and paint job and sound system. UNLESS you want a show car. Then by all means, go right ahead.

Volvo C30 Makes Swedes More Hip
“Love it. Hate it. What’s your opinion?” Volvo Cars candidly asks us for your first impressions of their C30 - the compact and sporty two-door car.
The Volvo C30, a near-luxury car from Ford’s Premier Automotive Group, is said to make Swedes more hip than before. The three-door, four-seat hatchback is equipped with I4 and I5 engines. The car is a hatchback version of its siblings - the S40, V50, and the C70.
The Swedish automaker made their fun-loving side go untamed in designing the C30. The car is given bold cues in the body and rapper-cool customized options to make it more attractive and trendy. To maintain the car ride “phat” that is distinctly Volvo’s, the pool of engineers has incorporated a precision controlled performance and a striking ambient interior shrink-wrapped to blend with the small car market to tease new generation of aficionados.
To make the car more attractive, straight-on headlights and a bold-faced grille defined the chiseled lines of the Volvo C30. Viewed from the front and sides, the hatchback epitomizes the modern styling of Volvo. Looking at the back, the view becomes much more futuristic. The appearance is enhanced by a frameless curved glass hatch window and prominent taillights over a bubbled out back bumper. This is its way of captivating a crowd - day or night. To make it iconic, the car is given a dramatically flared back that resonates with pop art impressions from the past.
Trevor Friesen, from Volvo of Victoria, points out that “Individualization is very important to modern consumers in the 25 - 35 year old demographic that the C30 appeals to. Volvo lets buyers customize the body kit (the front spoiler, side skirts and rear spoiler) by picking a color that either matches or contrasts with the exterior paint to distinguish their ride.”
Fab and sexy - that is what perfectly describes the new Volvo C30. Producing the car means Volvo is taking a new design direction by proving that it has not missed a beat in the C30. Volvo’s new hatchback was unveiled at the 2006 Paris Motor Show. However, it was produced in Europe late last year. In Europe, the production of the C30 is expected to be 65,000 units annually. The car is offered with a wide variety of gasoline and diesel engines. Gasoline engines include a 100 hp 1.6 liter I4, a 125 hp 1.8 liter I4, a 145 hp 2.0 liter I4, a 170 hp 2.4 liter inline-5, and a 220 hp turbocharged 2.5 liter inline-5 unit. Diesel engines, on the other hand, will be a 109 hp 1.6 liter inline-4, a 136 hp 2.0 liter inline-4, and a 180 hp 2.4 liter inline-5 unit.
The Volvo C30 also features Volvo control arms, four-wheel anti-lock braking system (ABS), traction control and airbags, electronic stability program (ESP), front and rear crumple zones, and a taut occupant cell. These features are developed by Mercedes-Benz but licensed for use by Volvo at no cost. Additionally, the C30 is given a patented front and rear structure using four varied grades of steel to manage the impact energy around the body of the car.
The Volvo C30 will also feature an upgraded sound system that includes a digital 5×130 watt ICE Power amplifier manufactured by Alpine featuring the Dolby Pro Logic II Surround, and 10 loudspeakers from Danish Dynaudio. These features are expected to tempt the distinct appetite of the youth market.
To boost Volvo's safety philosophy, the hatchback offers the Whiplash Protection System (WHIPS) and the Side Impact Protection System (SIPS) with side airbags and an inflatable curtain. The seat belts have pretensioners to protect the car occupants against accidents.
The car also uses Volvo's Intelligent Driver Information System (IDIS). The safety feature is responsible for the monitoring of the car's preemptive systems like steering wheel angle, pedal depressions, and overall factors that help the auto computer to settle whether the driver is busy or distracted, and will then delay certain information or alerts that are unessential.
There is a lot to love about the Volvo C30. Its overall comfort, quality and safety make it outshine the rest of the cars in the market these days. It is especially engineered to quench the market’s thirsts for something out of the ordinary. The new hatchback is now especially marketed for first-time Volvo buyers and the youth market. Its competitors include the Audi A3, BMW 1 Series, Mini Cooper, and the Volkswagen Golf.
